The Presidency on Friday urged Nigerians to project positive and factual narratives about the country, saying negative portrayals harm investor confidence and slow national development.

The call was made by the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, during a courtesy visit by members of the Grassroots Advocacy for Tinubu (GAT) 2027 in Abuja.

“We must speak positively and truthfully about Nigeria,” Idris said.

He noted that distorted narratives undermine confidence and discourage investment.

“When we project stability and unity, we attract investment and create opportunities for our people.”

Idris said the administration of Bola Tinubu had taken difficult policy decisions aimed at stabilising the economy and laying the foundation for long-term growth, adding that early signs of recovery were emerging across key sectors.

“These steps were taken to stabilise the economy and restore confidence,” the Minister said.

“What we are seeing today is the foundations of long-term growth and shared prosperity.”

He said unity, responsible communication, and collective support for government policies were necessary to protect and improve the economic outlook.

“Advocacy groups play an important role in helping government policies reach the grassroots,” said the Minister, adding that “effective communication is essential to national stability and development.”

The minister also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to making Nigeria work for all citizens, regardless of religion or background, stressing that national cohesion remains central to the administration’s vision.
