River State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has appointed Dagogo Wokoma as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG) and Sunny Ewule as the Chief of Staff for the Government House in Port Harcourt.
Both appointments take effect immediately, according to a statement released on Thursday by state Chief Press Secretary Onwuka Nzeshi.
Benibo Anabraba is replaced by Dagogo Wokoma, and Edison Ehie is replaced by Sunny Ewule. The government did not explain why it was replacing the previous officials.Â
The statement also noted that the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for 2:00 p.m. at the Executive Council Chamber of Government House, Port Harcourt.

Ehie’s role had been the subject of speculation in recent weeks, particularly following President Bola Tinubu’s intervention in the political tensions within the state.
Reports had suggested he continued to wield influence behind the scenes.
The latest appointments are widely seen as part of the aftermath of a reconciliation between Fubara and his former ally, Nyesom Wike, after Tinubu stepped in to halt impeachment moves against the governor and facilitate a truce.
Last week, the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, Martin Amaewhule, confirmed during plenary that lawmakers had withdrawn impeachment proceedings against Fubara and his deputy, Ngozi Odu, following the president’s intervention.
The reshuffle follows a series of recent decisions by the governor, including the dissolution of his cabinet of commissioners and the dismissal of all Special Advisers.
