The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced the commencement of its Membership Mobilisation, Registration, and Revalidation (MMRR) exercise in Abia.
In a statement shared on X on Sunday, the party noted that the event, held in Umuahia, the capital of Abia State, was presided over by the National Chairman, Senator David Mark, who was represented by the National Welfare Secretary, Comrade Nkem Ukandu.
According to Mark, the MMRR exercise displays the party’s commitment to inclusivity, transparency, and grassroots engagement. The party’s National Chairman also reaffirmed ADC’s commitment to meritocracy and inclusiveness, adding that leadership in the state will be determined through legitimate processes rather than imposed candidates or stakeholder preferences. He assured members that their voices would be heard and that fairness, accountability, and transparency would be upheld.

The party, formed as a coalition of politicians from various parties, has vowed to unseat President Bola Tinubu of the ruling All Progressives Congress in the 2027 election, which is ten months away.
Some of the party’s stakeholders include a former Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, former Vice President Atiku Abubakar, who was a former member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, who was a former member of the ruling APC before his fallout with Tinubu
The party had launched its membership registration exercise in Abuja, urging both existing and new supporters to register.
