A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, Ibrahim Osinowo, has accused former Vice President Atiku Abubakar of contributing to Nigeria’s current security challenges, alleging that decisions made during past administrations helped create the conditions the country is facing today.
Speaking on Newscentral’s breakfast program on Monday, Osinowo argued that understanding Nigeria’s present circumstances requires examining the actions of past leaders.
Osinowo raised questions about the management of funds allocated to the power sector during previous administrations, claiming that as much as 15 billion dollars was spent without delivering the expected transformation in electricity supply. According to him, the outcome of those investments remains a source of concern for many Nigerians.

In addition, the APC chieftain made allegations linking Atiku to activities that, in his view, worsened insecurity in the country, including claims of indirect support for militant groups.
“If there is no past, there will not be a history. Atiku Abubakar contributed to the insecurity of this country that we are witnessing. He fraudulently spent $15 billion on power and allegedly funding Boko Haram miltia” he said, insisting that Atiku’s political legacy should be scrutinised in the context of today’s security and governance debates.
Osinowo further alleged that individuals connected to the opposition were gathering information from within the current administration of President Bola Tinubu, suggesting that political rivalry continues to shape the national discourse.
