Charles Soludo has been sworn in for a second term as governor of Anambra State.

Soludo took the oath of office on Tuesday at an inauguration ceremony held at Alex Ekwueme Square in Awka.

He was sworn in alongside his deputy, Onyeka Ibezim.

Several political leaders attended the ceremony. Kashim Shettima represented the presidential government, while former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan were also present.

Others at the event included former Commonwealth Secretary-General Emeka Anyaoku and Siminalayi Fubara, along with several other governors.

Soludo secured a second term after winning the November 8, 2025, governorship election conducted by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

The commission declared him the winner after he polled 422,664 votes.

His closest rival, Nicholas Ukachukwu of the All Progressives Congress (APC), scored 99,445 votes, while Paul Chukwuma of the Young Progressives Party (PDP) came third with 37,753 votes.

A total of 16 candidates contested the election.

Soludo also won in all 21 local government areas of the state. Out of 2,788,864 registered voters, 598,229 voters were accredited, while 595,298 votes were cast. The election also recorded 11,244 rejected votes..
