Israel’s foreign ministry on Friday condemned the Iranian regime for “madness” after a missile impact was reported near the historic walls of Jerusalem’s Old City.
Officials characterised the strike as a direct assault on locations sacred to Jews, Christians, and Muslims alike, mockingly labelling the incident an “Iranian gift” for the Eid al-Fitr holiday.

The strike occurred following a barrage of missile warnings that sent residents across the city into air-raid shelters.

While the specific nature of the impact remains under investigation, it is currently unclear whether the damage was caused by a direct missile hit or falling debris from an aerial interception.
The Old City, which houses some of the world’s most sensitive religious landmarks, remains a high-tension zone as the regional conflict continues.
Israeli authorities emphasised that the regime’s willingness to endanger such sites contradicts its claims of religious devotion.
