Hearing in the alleged case against former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai, by the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has been adjourned to Wednesday, April 1, 2206.
El-Rufai appeared before the Federal High Court sitting in Kaduna State on Tuesday.
During proceedings, defence counsel, Ukpon Akpan, filed a motion asking the presiding judge, Rilwan Aikawa, to recuse himself from the matter, citing alleged bias and a pending petition against him.
However, the defence later submitted another motion seeking to withdraw the same application for recusal.

The court could not proceed with the bail hearing as planned, as the prosecution had only just filed its counter-affidavit in response to the bail application.
Consequently, Justice Aikawa adjourned the matter to Wednesday for the hearing of the bail application.
A related case instituted by the ICPC at the Kaduna State High Court was also adjourned to April 10 for further proceedings.
