The Minister of Transportation, Said Ahmed Alkali, has resigned to pursue a gubernatorial bid in the upcoming elections.
The announcement was confirmed by Umar Alkali Jibril, Special Assistant on Media and Publicity to the Minister, in a statement on Tuesday.
The resignation follows a presidential directive requiring all political appointees seeking elective offices to step down from their current roles.

In his resignation letter, Alkali thanked President Bola Tinubu for the opportunity to serve and noted the progress made in the transportation sector during his tenure.
The Presidency has accepted the resignation and expressed appreciation for Alkali’s service to the nation.
