The Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) has announced a one-month extension for taxpayers in the state to file their individual annual tax returns for 2025.

OGIRS made this announcement in a statement signed by its executive chairman, Olugbenga Olaleye.

Olaleye noted that the deadline was extended to April 30, 2026, to enable taxpayers facing challenges while filing their annual returns ample time to fulfil their tax obligations.

“Ogun State Internal Revenue Service (OGIRS) is mindful that many of our taxpayers may be facing challenges in completing their filing. We are aware that some taxpayers have experienced difficulties accessing their dashboards, which has hindered the submission process,” the statement read in part.

“To accommodate these difficulties and ensure that everyone has the opportunity to fulfil their responsibilities, we are pleased to announce a one-month extension for filing of Individual Annual Returns for 2025, to 30th April 2026.

“This extension aims to relieve the pressure many taxpayers are currently experiencing, allowing additional time to gather documentation, access their dashboard and complete filings without the stress of missing deadlines.”

Olaleye urged Ogun taxpayers to take advantage of the one-month extension and ensure their submissions are accurate and well-detailed.

Taxpayers who encounter challenges during the one-month extension are advised to contact the OGIRS to visit their tax offices or contact them via email, telephone or social media.

The Lagos Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) and the Federal Capital Territory Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) also recently extended their deadlines.

LIRS announced a two-week extension, while FCT-IRS announced a one-month extension, like OGIRS.
