The United Arab Emirates’ Ministry of Defence confirmed on Thursday that its air defence systems were actively engaged in neutralising incoming missile and drone “threats.”
In a brief statement shared on social media, officials noted that the military was responding to multiple unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) and projectiles.

While the ministry did not specify the exact launch points, the interceptions coincide with a broader wave of regional instability.

Since the outbreak of the Middle East conflict in late February, the UAE and several neighbouring Gulf nations have faced recurring aerial strikes.
These attacks are widely viewed as retaliatory measures linked to the ongoing military campaign involving U.S. and Israeli forces, which has now entered its second month.
The escalation has placed regional security forces on high alert as they work to protect critical infrastructure and urban centres.
This latest engagement follows a series of similar incidents across the Arabian Peninsula, where intercepted shrapnel has previously caused property damage and civilian casualties.
As the conflict continues to disrupt global energy markets and maritime corridors, the UAE maintains its defensive posture to mitigate the impact of these cross-border strikes.
Military authorities have not yet released a detailed assessment of any damage or specific targets from this most recent barrage.
