World-renowned tennis star Carlos Alcaraz withdrew from the Barcelona Open on Wednesday, citing a persistent wrist injury.
The physical discomfort surfaced during his opening-round victory against Otto Virtanen, forcing the Spaniard to cut his campaign short just a day later.
During a press conference, Alcaraz expressed his disappointment, confirming to reporters that he would be unable to compete further in the tournament.

This marks the second time the young athlete has had to pull out of the event for medical reasons, following a similar withdrawal in 2024.
