Zamalek of Egypt secured their place in the CAF Confederation Cup final following a 0-0 draw against Algeria’s Chabab Belouizdad in Cairo on Friday.
The “White Knights” advanced with a 1-0 aggregate victory, moving one step closer to a record-equalling third title in the competition.
The Cairo-based giants, who previously lifted the trophy in 2019 and 2024, now await the winner of the second semi-final between USM Alger and Olympique Safi.
The second-leg encounter at the Cairo International Stadium was a tactical, defensive battle typical of North African rivalries.
Although Belouizdad controlled more of the possession and earned several corners, Zamalek proved more dangerous in front of the goal.

The Egyptian side nearly took the lead in the first half when Oday Dabbagh’s header found the net, only to be ruled out for a marginal offside.
As the match progressed, Zamalek’s defence remained disciplined to protect their narrow aggregate lead.
Belouizdad struggled to break through, managing their only shot on target in the final minutes of the game, which was comfortably parried by goalkeeper Mahdi Soliman.
Zamalek will now host the second leg of the final on May 16, where a victory would see them match the three-title record currently held by Tunisia’s CS Sfaxien.
