Katsina State Governor, Dikko Radda, has called for stronger political unity, coordination, and engagement among stakeholders in the North-West, saying it is essential to reposition the region within Nigeria’s evolving political sector.

He stated this on Saturday during a high-level stakeholders’ meeting in Abuja, which brought together federal political office holders, members of the National Assembly, heads of federal agencies, and other stakeholders from Katsina State and the wider North-West.

According to a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Mohamed, the meeting focused on strengthening political collaboration, improving stakeholder engagement, and developing strategies to enhance governance and regional influence at the national level.

Radda, while addressing the gathering, stressed the need to revive the Katsina stakeholders’ forum as a platform for unity, collaboration, and policy alignment.

He said the forum should be revived to enable stakeholders work together in projecting Katsina’s interests more effectively and contributing meaningfully to governance and party development.

The governor also urged stakeholders to take ownership of the government’s narrative by promoting the achievements of President Bola Tinubu’s administration, noting the need for clear and consistent communication.

He emphasized that the successes of the administration must be properly communicated so citizens can fully understand the direction of government policy.

Radda further stated that if stakeholders fail to communicate their own story, others would define it for them, stressing the need to consistently use radio, print, and other media platforms to keep citizens informed and engaged.

“We must not shy away from telling our story. The successes of this administration must be communicated clearly and consistently. There is a need to change the narrative and ensure our people fully understand the direction of the government.

“Communication is central to governance. If we do not tell our story, others will tell it for us. We must utilize radio, print, and other platforms to keep our people informed and engaged,” he said.

The governor also called on stakeholders in Katsina and the North-West to strengthen grassroots engagement and maintain political relevance at all levels of governance.
