Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said on Friday he had “received messages” from the United States saying it is willing to continue talks, and that he was open to any support, including from China.

Araghchi stated that Iran remains receptive to any international efforts aimed at facilitating these discussions.

This development follows remarks from US President Donald Trump, who noted that Chinese President Xi Jinping offered Beijing’s assistance in reopening the strategic Strait of Hormuz, alongside a commitment from China to withhold military aid from Iran.

Araghchi expressed explicit openness toward Beijing’s potential diplomatic involvement, highlighting the strong strategic partnership and positive intentions shared between Iran and China.

While welcoming any constructive external support to aid the diplomatic process, the Foreign Minister also addressed the ongoing mediation efforts led by Pakistan.

He noted that while Pakistan’s mediation has not collapsed, it currently faces significant hurdles and a complicated trajectory, which he attributed primarily to American conduct and deep-seated bilateral mistrust.
