Saudi Arabia said on Sunday that it intercepted and destroyed three drones that entered its airspace from neighbouring Iraq.
The spokesperson for the Saudi Ministry of Defence, Turki al-Maliki, said the drones were detected early on Sunday morning and were successfully shot down.
He added that the ministry “reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place,” signalling that further action could follow.

Authorities did not immediately provide details on the origin or purpose of the drones.
