Six people lost their lives on Tuesday evening following a fatal head-on collision involving a Honda Fit and a haulage truck along the Harare-Bulawayo Highway near the Redcliff turn-off, police in Zimbabwe have confirmed.
According to the Zimbabwe Republic Police, the accident occurred around 5:45 p.m. at the 223-kilometre peg on the busy highway.
Authorities said the two vehicles collided head-on, resulting in multiple fatalities at the scene. Further details surrounding the cause of the crash were yet to be released as investigations continue.

“ZRP reports a fatal road traffic collision at the 223km peg along the Harare-Bulawayo Road near Redcliff turn-off at 1745 hours this evening,” police said in a statement.
“Six people died when a Honda Fit and a haulage truck collided.”
The Harare-Bulawayo Highway remains one of Zimbabwe’s busiest and most dangerous roads, with many deadly crashes on the route frequently blamed on speeding and risky overtaking.
Authorities say investigations are ongoing to determine the exact circumstances that led to the latest accident.
