Egyptian national team coach Hossam Hassan announced his final squad on Saturday for next month’s 2026 World Cup in North America, naming Liverpool’s talismanic winger Mohamed Salah to headline the roster.
The lineup featured very few surprises, though Hassan did include rising 18-year-old striker Hamza Abdel Karim.
The young forward currently plays for Barcelona Atletic, the reserve side of the La Liga champions, on loan from Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
Manchester City forward Omar Marmoush will likely spearhead the Egyptian attack during the tournament after netting eight goals in 36 appearances for his club this season.
Egypt will kick off their World Cup campaign against Belgium on June 15 in Seattle.

The Pharaohs compete in Group G alongside New Zealand and Iran, and they will play their final warm-up friendly match against Brazil on June 6 in Ohio.
The full squad includes goalkeepers Mohamed El-Shenawy, Mostafa Shobeir, El-Mahdi Soliman, and Mohamed Alaa.
Defenders Mohamed Abdelmonem, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Hossam Abdelmaguid, Ahmed Fattouh, Tarek Alaa, Rami Rabia, Hamdi Fathi, and Karim Hafez will anchor the backline.
Salah joins midfielders Marwan Attia, Ahmed Mostafa “Zizo”, Mahmoud Hassan “Trezeguet”, Emam Ashour, Mostafa Abdel Raouf, Mohannad Lasheen, Haitham Hassan, Mahmoud Saber, Ibrahim Adel, and Nabil Emad, while Marmoush and Abdel Karim comprise the forward line.
