Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has commissioned three road projects in Ndokwa West Local Government Area, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to infrastructure development across the state.

Speaking during the commissioning in the state, the governor said the projects reflect a deliberate push to improve living conditions and strengthen connectivity in communities across Delta State.

He recalled earlier engagements in the region, noting that similar efforts had been flagged off in neighbouring local government areas as part of a broader development plan.

“These three roads are in Ndokwa West Local Government Area. You will recall that on the 6th of May, I was in Ndokwa East for the groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the 11-kilometre Aboh-Akarai Road with a bridge across Okiri River,” Oborevwori said.

“On that occasion, I reiterated that every local government area of the state will be effectively captured in our infrastructure development agenda.”

Stating the impact of the newly commissioned roads, the governor said they are expected to improve transport and economic activity in the area.

“The projects we are commissioning today are further proof of this administration’s determination to build resilient and sustainable infrastructure that will drastically improve the living conditions of our people in their towns and communities,” he added.

“Let me take this opportunity to commend the contractors for the speedy completion of these three roads with a total length of about 17.9 almost 18 kilometers.”

According to him, the roads will ease movement, reduce costs, and stimulate local commerce.

“The completion of these roads will improve the road network in Udupa Nation. They will bring relief to road users, enhance access to markets, reduce transportation costs, attract investment and boost socioeconomic activities,” he said.

However, Oborevwori also expressed dissatisfaction over delays in some other projects, warning contractors against non-performance.

He further cautioned that his government would not tolerate delays, directing relevant authorities to ensure completion of outstanding works.
