The Governor of Ondo State, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Public Service in the state, effective June 6, 2026.

The appointment was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.

Odusanya replaces Bayo Phillips, who has retired from the state civil service.

The governor expressed appreciation to the outgoing Head of Service for his contributions to the state’s development and wished him success in his future endeavours.

He also charged the new appointee to deploy his experience in strengthening the civil service and supporting the administration’s governance agenda.

Odusanya, born on February 6, 1967, began his education at St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School between 1972 and 1983.

He later attended the University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University), where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture in 1989, followed by a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies in 1992. He also obtained a Master’s degree in Business Administration from the University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000.

He joined the Ondo State Civil Service in September 1995 and rose through the ranks, becoming a Permanent Secretary in 2019. He has served in several ministries, including Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Transport, and Agriculture and Forestry.
