Portugal Beat Nigeria 2–1 in Friendly

Nigeria suffered a 2–1 defeat to Portugal in an international friendly as the European side completed their World Cup preparations with a second consecutive victory.

Ronaldo, 41, will be heading to his record sixth World Cup, but there are concerns in some quarters that his presence will prevent Roberto Martinez’s strong side from flourishing.

Portugal leave on Friday to set up base camp in Palm Beach, Florida, where they will open their World Cup campaign on June 17 in Houston against the Democratic Republic of Congo, before facing Uzbekistan and Colombia in Group K.
