Nigeria suffered a 2–1 defeat to Portugal in an international friendly as the European side completed their World Cup preparations with a second consecutive victory.

Pedro Neto put Portugal ahead before Akor Adams restored parity for the Super Eagles.

Portugal, however, regained the lead through substitute Francisco Conceição, who curled a fine effort into the far corner to secure victory for the hosts.

The result meant Portugal headed into the World Cup on the back of successive wins, while Nigeria were left to reflect on a narrow loss despite Adams’ equaliser.
