A civilian aircraft carrying skydivers crashed near the eastern French town of Tomblaine on Sunday, killing all 11 people on board, local authorities said.
Yves Seguy, the prefect of the eastern department of Meurthe-et-Moselle, said the victims comprised five skydiving instructors, five students and the pilot.
He also confirmed that no one on the ground was injured in the crash.
“There were no bystanders among the victims,” he added, speaking at a press conference.

The German-registered aircraft went down in a grassy area near the runway of the Nancy-Essey aerodrome, close to a residential neighbourhood and two roads.
Authorities said the cause of the crash had not yet been established.
Emergency teams, including medical and psychological support personnel, were deployed to assist relatives of the victims and witnesses at the airfield.
The deputy public prosecutor in Nancy, Amaury Lacote, said a technical investigation had been launched to determine the cause of the accident.
Police also urged the public to avoid the area around the airport to allow emergency responders unrestricted access, while French Interior Minister Laurent Nunez was expected to visit the crash site later on Sunday.
