Qatar has condemned the deadly armed attacks targeting police officers and military personnel in Pakistan’s Balochistan province.

In a statement issued by its Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Qatar described the attacks as criminal acts and reiterated its longstanding opposition to violence in all forms.

“The State of Qatar strongly condemns the armed attacks on police and army personnel in Balochistan Province of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, which resulted in fatalities,” the ministry said.

The statement follows persistent militant violence in Balochistan, Pakistan’s largest but least populated province.

The region has long witnessed attacks by separatist insurgent groups and extremist militants targeting security forces, government installations and infrastructure.

The ministry reaffirmed Doha’s position against terrorism, saying, “The State of Qatar’s unwavering position of rejecting violence, terrorism, and criminal acts, regardless of motives and reasons.”

Qatar also conveyed its sympathy to those affected by the attacks.

“The Ministry extends the State of Qatar’s condolences to the families of the victims, as well as to the government and people of Pakistan,” the statement added.

Balochistan has experienced decades of insurgency, with separatist groups accusing the Pakistani government of marginalising the province and exploiting its natural resources.

Pakistani authorities have consistently blamed outlawed militant organisations for attacks on security personnel and have intensified counterterrorism operations across the province in response to recurring violence.

Qatar’s statement adds to international expressions of solidarity with Pakistan following the latest attacks.
