Kukah Warns Votes Could Decide Survival In 2027

Catholic Bishop of Sokoto Diocese, Most Rev. Matthew Kukah, has warned that Nigerians’ votes could determine their survival and well-being in 2027.

Kukah spoke on Friday during the 70th anniversary of Saint Finbarr’s College.

He urged Nigerians to take the 2027 elections seriously and make informed choices.

The bishop advised voters to research candidates before deciding who to support.

He said citizens could use information available online to examine candidates and their records.

Kukah said Nigerians could blame the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), government and security agencies for electoral challenges.

However, he stressed that voters must also take responsibility for the choices they make at the ballot.

According to him, those choices could directly affect Nigerians’ survival and well-being.

He therefore urged citizens to look beyond political campaigns and gather enough information before voting.

Kukah said informed decisions were essential to choosing leaders who would serve Nigerians’ interests.
