Five shallow earthquakes struck southern Türkiye on Sunday, sending tremors across northern Syria without causing casualties or structural damage.
Türkiye’s disaster management agency, AFAD, reported three quakes in the early afternoon followed by two more in the evening, confirming that the seismic activity produced no negative impact on local communities.
Four of the quakes centred on the Saimbeyli district in Adana province, recording magnitudes ranging between 4.3 and 4.9. A fifth tremor, registering a magnitude of 5.2, hit the Sumbas district further south.

Syria’s national earthquake centre confirmed that residents across northern Syrian regions felt all five quakes, though local authorities reported no injuries or physical destruction.
The tremors occurred roughly 150 kilometres from the epicentres of the devastating February 2023 quakes, highlighting the ongoing activity along the fault lines traversing the region.
