Seven people have been wounded in a knife attack at a high school in the Polish town of Ostroleka, with police arresting a 19-year-old man in connection with the incident.
The attack occurred at the school, about 120 kilometres (75 miles) north of Warsaw on Wednesday, according to police who released a blurred photograph of the suspect following his arrest.
Ostroleka prosecutor Elzbieta Lukasiewicz said the victims included both students and teachers.
She told Polish news channel TVN24 that the suspect appeared to have entered the school and attacked students and teachers with a dangerous weapon.
Lukasiewicz initially said she had information indicating that eight people were injured.

“It appears that the boy went into the school and attacked the students and teachers with a dangerous tool,” Lukasiewicz said.
“Based on the information I have, eight people were injured.”
The fire department told the PAP news agency that the injured included three adults and five teenagers.
