The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced scheduled power disruption and maintenance that will affect electricity supply in parts of Ogun State.

The exercise will take place at the Ijebu-Ode Transmission Substation on Thursday and Friday. According to TCN, engineers will service its T1 and T2 30MVA, 132/33kV power transformers during the exercise. The maintenance will run from 10 am to 5 pm each day. Engineers will work on one transformer per day.

TCN said the annual exercise is necessary to carry out routine checks and servicing. The company added that it will help maintain the transformers’ performance and reliability. However, the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) will be unable to take power from the affected transformer during each maintenance period.

On Thursday, maintenance on the T1 30MVA transformer will affect electricity supply to Ijebu-Ode and Idowa. Meanwhile, Friday’s maintenance on the T2 30MVA transformer will affect Ijebu-Igbo and Barracks.

“Bulk power supply will be restored to each transformer at the end of its scheduled maintenance day,” TCN said.

The company apologised to electricity consumers in the affected communities for any inconvenience caused by the exercise.
