It further alleged that the victim was killed after the ransom was delivered and that the suspect received ₦50,000 for his role.

The task force said investigations were ongoing to apprehend the alleged principal suspect, Yusuf Iliya Sani, and other suspected collaborators.

In a separate operation, troops of Sector Two, working with the Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, located and destroyed three improvised explosive devices allegedly planted by terrorists along the Magami-Dansadau road in Zamfara State.

The operation was conducted on October 8 to address explosive threats and improve the safety of residents and road users along the route.

The task force also reported that troops of Sector Two engaged suspected terrorists allegedly moving rustled livestock between Kombo and Gurusu villages in Zamfara State.

Acting on intelligence, the troops confronted the suspected terrorists, who reportedly fled and abandoned the animals.

The recovered livestock comprised 14 camels, 19 cows and 40 sheep.
