Troops of the Joint Task Force North West, Operation Fansan Yamma, have arrested a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kaduna State, destroyed three improvised explosive devices in Zamfara State and recovered 73 livestock allegedly rustled by terrorists.
The military disclosed the operations in a statement issued on Friday by the task force’s Media Information Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Aliyu Danja.
According to the statement, troops of Sector One, acting on intelligence, arrested a suspect identified as Yusuf Adamu at Kuyello in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State on October 8.
The military alleged that Adamu admitted during preliminary interrogation to involvement in terrorist activities, including recording a video of a female kidnap victim who was allegedly sexually assaulted by terrorists to support a ransom demand.
It further alleged that the victim was killed after the ransom was delivered and that the suspect received ₦50,000 for his role.
The task force said investigations were ongoing to apprehend the alleged principal suspect, Yusuf Iliya Sani, and other suspected collaborators.

Troops destroy three explosives in Zamfara
In a separate operation, troops of Sector Two, working with the Nigeria Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal team, located and destroyed three improvised explosive devices allegedly planted by terrorists along the Magami-Dansadau road in Zamfara State.
The operation was conducted on October 8 to address explosive threats and improve the safety of residents and road users along the route.
Military recovers 73 rustled animals
The task force also reported that troops of Sector Two engaged suspected terrorists allegedly moving rustled livestock between Kombo and Gurusu villages in Zamfara State.
Acting on intelligence, the troops confronted the suspected terrorists, who reportedly fled and abandoned the animals.

The recovered livestock comprised 14 camels, 19 cows and 40 sheep.
Troops, working with local vigilantes, subsequently moved the animals to a secure location for further action.
Operation Fansan Yamma reaffirmed its commitment to dismantling terrorist support networks, neutralising explosive threats and protecting lives and property across the North-West.
