Nigeria’s President Bola Tinubu has planned to inaugurate the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council on October 14, before the 2027 general elections.
According to Punch, the statement said that the inauguration will take place at the Banquet Hall of the Presidential Villa in Abuja. Former Zamfara State Governor Abdulaziz Yari, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodimma, Dr Betta Edu and other party leaders are expected to play key roles.
Yari, the council’s Director-General, disclosed the plan after meeting Tinubu at the Presidential Villa on Friday. He briefed State House correspondents on preparations for the campaign,

“The President has approved the proposed campaign timetable,” Yari said.
He added that campaign activities would begin with a rally in Kaduna on October 24. The schedule also includes engagements in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, and Maiduguri, the Borno State capital.

Meanwhile, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu and Edu have begun mobilising women across the country ahead of the campaign council’s formal inauguration.
Edu, the council’s Director of Women Mobilisation, is working with the First Lady and other members of the directorate to build grassroots support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
The team has set a target of mobilising 40 million women voters for the Tinubu–Shettima ticket. Its strategy covers 176,846 communities and polling-unit structures across the 36 states and Abuja.
The campaign team plans to use community outreach, grassroots networks and public engagement to promote the administration’s Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0 among women.
The October 14 inauguration is expected to bring party leaders and stakeholders together to coordinate campaign activities. The Kaduna rally, scheduled for October 24, will mark the start of the party’s planned nationwide campaign events.
The APC’s preparations come ahead of the 2027 general elections, as the party organises its structures and mobilises support for Tinubu’s re-election bid.
