Expressing strong confidence in the president’s electoral prospects, Yari dismissed challenges from opposition candidates Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar, citing Tinubu’s political base across both northern and southern states.

“We are going to hit the ground running by the 24th of October,” Yari affirmed, adding that Tinubu “has turned around the situation that he met on the ground, and the economy is moving.”
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has scheduled Nigeria’s presidential and National Assembly elections for January 16, 2027, with 18 candidates contesting the country’s top office.
