United States actress Selma Blair has been arrested following an alleged altercation aboard a flight from Los Angeles to New York that left at least two cabin crew members injured, authorities said on Monday.
The Legally Blonde and Cruel Intentions star was detained at John F. Kennedy International Airport after her Delta Air Lines flight landed late on Sunday, following reports of a physically abusive passenger.
US media reports alleged that Blair punched one flight attendant and bit another. She was also accused of assaulting a police officer and a nurse while being taken to hospital.

“Selma experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct,” a representative for the 54-year-old actress said
“Upon landing, she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition.”
According to a federal judicial source, the FBI issued a summons accusing Blair of assaulting people aboard the aircraft.

Blair appeared in court on Monday night, where she was arraigned on two counts of second-degree assault. She was released on bail, with another hearing scheduled for January 19, 2027.
A Delta spokesperson said the airline would not tolerate disruptive or unlawful conduct, stressing that the safety of passengers and crew remained its priority.

The incident has renewed attention on Blair’s previous in-flight episode in 2016, when she was removed from an aircraft on a stretcher following an outburst.
After that incident, Blair told Vanity Fair that mixing alcohol with medication had caused her to black out and behave in ways she deeply regretted.
In her 2022 memoir, the actress also recounted biting several celebrities, including Kate Moss, often in situations involving alcohol.
