The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions ahead of a 35-day rehabilitation of Ozumba Mbadiwe Road in Victoria Island, Lagos.
The rehabilitation, which will begin on Monday, October 19, 2026, will cover the section of the road between the Adetokunbo Ademola/Civic Centre axis and Samuel Manuwa/BJ.
According to a traffic advisory issued by Lagos State Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, a contraflow arrangement will operate on the Lagos-bound carriageway between Samuel Manuwa and Adetokunbo Ademola/Civic Centre while workers carry out rehabilitation on the affected lane.
Motorists travelling from Bonny Camp or Falomo towards Civic Centre and Lekki have been advised to use alternative routes through Adeyemo Alakija Street, Adeola Hopewell, Akinbo Savage and Bishop Aboyade Cole before reconnecting to the expressway around School Corner, also known as Black Diamond, towards Sandfill.
Drivers heading from Falomo towards Akin Adesola may use the IMB axis to connect the Coastal Road entrance through Adetokunbo Ademola, Eko Hotel Roundabout, Ajose Adeogun and Ligali before proceeding towards Black Diamond School Corner.

Motorists travelling from Eko Hotel towards Falomo-Ikoyi are expected to use Sanusi Fafunwa Street to connect Akin Adesola and proceed towards the ramp bridge.
Traffic from Eko Hotel through Adetokunbo Ademola towards Civic Centre will also be diverted through Bishop Aboyade Cole and School Corner. Motorists exiting the 1004 Estate area will be required to turn left or make a U-turn before joining the designated alternative route.
The Lagos State Government said officers of the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority, LASTMA, will be deployed along affected corridors to manage vehicular movement, reduce congestion and minimise disruption during the rehabilitation.
Authorities have urged motorists to plan their journeys in advance, obey traffic officials and cooperate with temporary traffic management measures throughout the construction period.
