British Conservative Party Leader Kemi Badenoch has denounced racist social media attacks targeting her Nigerian heritage.
Speaking on ITV’s Good Morning Britain, Badenoch addressed comments by Raheem Kassam, a former senior aide to Reform UK leader Nigel Farage, who labelled her a “Nigerian scammer” and warned the public not to share bank details with her.
The Conservative Party Leader stated that Reform UK politicians are attempting to leverage her race for political gain, emphasising that “Britain is not a racist country” and asserting that such tactics will fail.

The rhetoric has intensified political friction between the Conservatives and Reform UK.
Reform Treasury spokesman Robert Jenrick refused to label Kassam’s remarks as racist during a television interview, dismissing them as potentially rude while raising questions about Badenoch’s academic background.

Farage similarly downplayed the posts before later acknowledging they were “over the top.”
In response, a Labour spokesperson criticised Jenrick’s refusal to condemn the statement, asserting that calling out racism remains a matter of “basic decency.”
