Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has ridiculed the presidential ambition of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) candidate Peter Obi.
Wike dismissed Obi’s popularity as an online trend lacking the substance required to govern the country.
“If you want to know who will be president for social media, vote for Obi,” Wike said at a town hall meeting in Abonnema, Akuku-Toru Local Government Area of Rivers State, on Thursday.

The minister then questioned the former Anambra State governor’s capacity for national leadership, using a personal anecdote to contrast their styles.
“But when you are talking about the president of Nigeria, Mbaa! No! It is not about ‘I am carrying my bag alone.’ Is that what gives you capacity to rule Nigeria? That you are carrying your bag stringy?” he asked.
