Gunmen Attack Villages, Killed 11 in Niger

Not less than 11 people have been reported killed by jihadist who attacked the western Tillaberi region close to Mali.

The militants who arrived on motorbikes looted an health centre, c arted away livestock and set classromms ablaze.

According to eyewitness, the attackers “surrounded the villages” and killed villagers who attempted to flee.

The affected villages are Zibane-Koira Zeno, Zibane Koira-Tégui and Gadabo, which are in close proximity to each other.

No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks as at press time.

This attacks follows the recent large-scale attack on Sunday in the Tahoua region, killing 137 people in a few hours in three villages.
