BREAKING: Former Labour and Productivity Minister, Akwanga is Dead

Nigeria’s former Minister of Labour and Productivity, Alhaji Hussaini Zanwa Akwanga is dead. Akwanga, died Friday, at the age of 77 after a protracted illness in his home town Akwanga, the headquarters of Akwanga local government of Nasarawa State.

Akwanga, a professional teacher, became a minister in 2003 but was sacked by the then President Olusegun Obasanjo.

In 2017, he was kidnapped in his farm in Kurmin Tagwaye Village, near Akwanga, but was released two days later after paying the ransom.

The deputy chairman of Akwanga local government area of Nasarawa State, Alhaji Safiyanu Isa confirmed the death of the stateman saying “the former minister died today (Friday), in Akwanga”

He has since been buried according to Islamic rites in his country home, Akwanga.
