Five Soldiers Killed in Niger Explosion

Reports indicate that five soldiers have been killed in an explosion in southwest Niger.

This was made known in a statement on Sunday by the State’s Television.

In the Torodi district of the country’s southwest, an army vehicle carrying soldiers collided with an improvised explosive device (IED).

Militant attacks are becoming more common in the Burkina Faso border region.

Since 2017, tens of thousands of troops have been deployed and a state of emergency has been declared to combat the insurgency.
