The African Democratic Congress (ADC) released an updated schedule for its 2026 primary elections and a revised cost for presidential nomination forms on Tuesday.

The party set the cost of the presidential nomination form at N90 million, the governorship nomination form at N30 million, N10 million for the Senate, N5 million for the House of Representatives and N2 million for the State House of Assembly.

According to the updated timetable, the party will commence the sale of nomination forms from May 1 to May 4, while submissions and purchase of completed forms will run from May 6 to May 13, with the latter being the deadline.

The party has outlined a tight schedule for its primaries, with elections for State Houses of Assembly, the House of Representatives, and the Senate set for May 21. Governorship primaries will follow the next day, May 22, while the presidential primary is slated for May 23.

This will be followed by a National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on May 25 and a Special National Convention on May 26.

In a move aimed at encouraging broader participation, the party has maintained its concession policy—offering a 50 per cent discount on nomination forms for youth aspirants aged 18 to 35, and a 25 per cent discount for women and persons living with disabilities.

Abdullahi said: “These adjustments reflect the outcome of broad-based consultations aimed at strengthening internal democracy, improving access, and ensuring that the ADC continues to provide a credible and inclusive platform for political participation.

“All aspirants and stakeholders are advised to take note of the updated schedule and revised fees, and to comply fully with all guidelines as published. The ADC remains committed to organising effectively and presenting credible candidates to Nigerians ahead of the 2027 general elections.”
