The President and Founding Partner of Elyon Energy Services, Christine Achu, has  described her participation in the 2025 Africa Energy Week (AEW) summit as fundamentally transformative.

Speaking at the sixth edition of the annual event, Achu said the summit surpassed all expectations, providing an environment filled with collaboration, openness, and innovation.

Achu expressed particular pride in the fact that the conference was organised by a fellow Cameroonian, a point that resonated strongly with many participants.

Africa Energy Week is more than just a conference; it is a catalyst for the continent’s emergence as a key player on the global energy stage,” she remarked.

One of the standout features of the event, Achu noted, was the women’s mentorship programme, which offered a unique platform for women in the sector to share challenges, exchange ideas, and learn from seasoned professionals.

“The sense of solidarity and empowerment was priceless. It reaffirmed the critical role women play in shaping the future of the energy industry,” she said.

Beyond professional networking, Achu emphasised the importance of corporate social responsibility (CSR) in the energy business.

Her company, she explained, places CSR at the heart of its operations, ensuring that partnerships benefit local communities and deliver lasting impact.

She also highlighted the increasing presence of women in traditionally male-dominated spaces such as engineering, procurement, construction, and high-level financial negotiations.

“Breaking these barriers brings new perspectives and leadership styles that are essential for industry growth,” Achu noted.
Looking ahead, she stressed that the journey is one of continuous learning, mentorship, and knowledge sharing.

“By paving the way for the next generation, we are showing that the energy sector is no longer a closed circle—every aspiring engineer and innovator now has a place at the table,” she concluded.
