Candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC) have secured victory in the Rivers State House of Assembly bye-elections, winning both contested seats in Khana State Constituency II and Ahoada East State Constituency II.
In Khana State Constituency II, APC candidate Henrietta Bulabari emerged victorious after polling 7,647 votes, according to figures released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
The Returning Officer, Angela Briggs, formally announced the result, saying that Bulabari had “satisfied the requirements of the law,” thereby confirming her election in line with constitutional provisions.
The final tally showed a wide margin between the APC and other parties. The Action Alliance (AA) secured 46 votes, the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) recorded 37 votes, the Young Progressives Party (YPP) garnered 23 votes, and the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) polled 47 votes. With 7,800 valid votes cast and only 34 rejected ballots, the outcome reflected a decisive win for the APC candidate.

INEC data further indicated that out of 71,914 registered voters in the constituency, 7,834 were accredited to vote. Party agents were present during the collation and official declaration of results, underscoring procedural compliance throughout.
In Ahoada East State Constituency II, APC candidate Napoleon Ukalikpe was also declared the winner, completing the party’s sweep of the bye-elections.
The twin victories strengthen the APC’s foothold in the Rivers State House of Assembly and reinforce its influence in the state’s legislative politics.
