Armed bandits have killed three people and set houses ablaze during an attack on Pissa village in the Borgu Local Government Area of Niger State.
The spokesperson of the Kogi State Police Command, Wasiu Abiodun, confirmed the incident in a statement to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), saying the attack occurred at about 9:00 a.m. on Saturday.
Abiodun said the assailants invaded the community, killing three residents and burning several houses.

“The report received indicated that suspected bandits invaded Pissa village in Borgu LGA. Three persons were reportedly killed during the attack, and some houses were set ablaze,” he said.
He added that security forces, including the military, responded to the attack and engaged the gunmen, although details of the encounter were still unclear.
“However, the military responded and engaged the terrorists, but further details are still sketchy,” he said.
The attack comes days after authorities denied reports of an earlier invasion that sparked panic in Minna, the Niger State capital, forcing schoolchildren to leave their schools early amid fears of bandit incursions.
