The Confederation of African Football (CAF) said Monday it is reviewing all available footage from the Africa Cup of Nations final between Morocco and Senegal. CAF, in a statement, warned that disciplinary action would be taken against those found responsible for misconduct.
It said the footage will be referred to “competent bodies for appropriate action” following what it called the “unacceptable behaviour ” by some players and officials during the Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 final in Rabat.
The governing body said it “strongly condemns inappropriate behaviour” during matches, particularly actions directed at referees or match organisers.

“The Confederation of African Football condemns the unacceptable behaviour of some players and officials during the TotalEnergies CAF Africa Cup of Nations Morocco 2025 Final between Morocco and Senegal in Rabat last night,” CAF said.
“CAF is reviewing all footage and will refer the matter to competent bodies for appropriate action to be taken against those found guilty.”
After a VAR review, referee Jean Jacques Mdala gave Morocco a penalty for a challenge on Brahim Diaz late in regular time, disrupting the final and leaving the score tied at zero.
In protest, most Senegal players briefly walked off the pitch, while clashes broke out in the stands involving some Senegalese fans and Moroccan security personnel. Players later returned to the field following intervention from Sadio Mane, and the match continued into extra time.
Senegal went on to win 1-0 through a goal by Pape Gueye, clinching the title in front of 66,526 spectators at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium.
