The Dangote Petroleum Refinery has reduced its petrol gantry price from N1,275 per litre to N1,250, marking a N25 adjustment in response to changing international crude oil prices.
A senior official of the Dangote Group, who requested anonymity, confirmed the development to Punch News on Saturday.
The official explained that the price revision was driven by recent movements in the global oil market, though he noted that conditions remain unstable.
“We have reduced the petrol price to N1,250 at our gantry. This has to do with the current reduction in global oil prices, though everything is still volatile and requires caution,” the official said.

Market data from petroleumprice.ng showed that other depots, including Aiteo and NIPCO, were reportedly selling petrol at about N1,272 per litre, while Integrated Energy, Ascon and African Terminal were reportedly offering around N1,274 per litren slightly below Dangote’s previous gantry rate.
The latest reduction is expected to influence pricing across the downstream petroleum sector, particularly for marketers lifting products directly from the refinery.
In recent months, petrol prices in Nigeria have surged significantly, rising from about N830 per litre to as high as N1,300 per litre in several parts of the country, following fluctuations in global crude oil prices.
Diesel and aviation fuel have also seen notable increases over the same period, adding pressure on businesses and transport operators nationwide.
