Football superstar David Beckham will receive a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame in the Sports Entertainment category on June 12, organisers announced Tuesday.
Movie legend Tom Cruise and the player’s wife, Victoria Beckham, will attend the ceremony to unveil the plaque immortalising the 51-year-old former England captain on Hollywood’s most famous thoroughfare.
The honour comes at a fitting moment as the United States prepares to host the World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico later that day.
Ana Martinez of the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce highlighted Beckham’s immense role in elevating football’s profile in America and his lasting influence on global sports, entertainment, and culture.
During his decorated playing career, the midfielder starred for Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, the LA Galaxy, and Paris Saint-Germain before retiring in 2013.

Beckham, whom King Charles III knighted last year, also co-founded the content production company Studio 99 in 2019 and currently co-owns Inter Miami CF, the team that signed Lionel Messi and won the Major League Soccer Cup Championship last year.
