Nigeria’s former Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun’s husband, Anthony Adeniyi Adeosun, has died at the age of 62, his family has announced.
According to a statement released by the Adeosun family on Thursday, the businessman passed away on Wednesday in Lagos State.
In the statement titled “Announcement of the passing of Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” the family described him as a respected businessman, devoted Christian and a man who positively impacted those around him.
“It is with profound sorrow, yet in total submission to the will of Almighty God, that the Adeosun family announces the passing of our beloved husband, father, and brother, Mr Anthony Adeniyi (Niyi) Adeosun,” the statement read.

The family said Adeosun’s life was marked by “hard work, service to God, and an unwavering commitment to his family and community.”
Adeosun was also described as a man known for his integrity, generosity and strong faith.
The family said details of his funeral and Christian burial arrangements would be announced later.
He is survived by his wife, Kemi Adeosun, his children and siblings, including Adewale Adeosun, founder of Kuramo Capital.
“We thank all who have reached out with prayers, condolences, and support. May his gentle soul rest in perfect peace in the bosom of the Lord,” the statement added.
