Akinnanu’s death comes months after she publicly appealed for prayers while battling a severe leg ailment.

She was seen sitting with her leg outstretched while a pastor prayed for her healing in a video that went viral at the time.

At the age of ten, the singer started her musical career. Later, she quit her banking job to devote herself entirely to gospel music.

Her popular song Omije Ojumi, which became a staple in homes and churches all over Nigeria, made her well-known.
