Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has condemned the United States for an airstrike on a critical desalination plant located on Qeshm Island in the Persian Gulf.
In a statement released on Saturday via social media, Araghchi described the attack as a “blatant and desperate crime” that has directly disrupted the freshwater supply for approximately 30 local villages.

The foreign minister warned that targeting civilian and national infrastructure marks a “dangerous move” that could lead to severe repercussions.

He emphasised that the U.S. has established a provocative new precedent in the ongoing conflict, asserting that Iran was not the party to initiate such strikes on essential public utilities.
