Naira Rises in Official, Black Markets

The naira gained value against the US dollar on Monday in both the official and parallel foreign exchange markets.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria, the naira saw a slight appreciation to N1,528.33 on Monday, up from N1,528.56 on Friday at the official market. This marks a modest gain of N0.23.

In the parallel, or black, market, the naira showed a more significant appreciation, rising by N20 to trade at N1,550 per dollar on Monday, compared to N1,570 on Friday.

This positive shift on Monday follows a period of decline for the naira in both markets at the close of the previous week.
