The naira recorded strong gains against the US dollar at the official foreign exchange market on Monday, recovering from the losses it suffered on Friday, October 17, 2025.
According to data from the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), the naira appreciated to ₦1,465.29 per dollar on Monday, up from ₦1,475.35 recorded on Friday. This reflects an improvement of ₦10.06 compared to the previous trading session.
In the parallel market, the naira held steady at ₦1,500 per dollar, maintaining the same rate as on Friday.
The local currency had weakened by ₦20.18 against the dollar on a week-on-week basis last week, before Monday’s rebound.
